Our Core Values for Ministry:

  • We believe that when people praise God in worship their lives are opened to the work of the Holy Spirit

  • We believe the Church is a unified community where loving relationships are expressed among people of all races, sexes, ages, and backgrounds.

  • We believe that God gives each Christian unique gifts to be used in service for his glory.

  • We believe that Christians are challenged and nurtured into a deeper walk with Christ through authentic small groups.

  • We believe that leaders equip, support, and motivate people to minister through teams.

  • We believe that functional church structure empowers effective ministry

How to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ...
The ministry commitments of a member of Oakdale Park Church:

  • Pray for unchurced persons: Friends, Neighbors, relatives...
All things begin on our knees. Often, constant, faithful prayer opens a door into a person's life that otherwise would not have been there.

  • Build authentic relationships...
As a door is opened into the life of seeking friends, we should take the opportunity to build an authentic relationship with them. The love of a caring friend can provide the fertile ground for the acceptance of the message of Christ.

  • Share the life of Christ through my life...
It is through our lives that we must constantly show the love of Christ so that a seeking friend sees a difference between our lives and the rest of the world

  • Invite seeking friends to meet God's family at Oakdale Park Church...
We introduce our friends to the body here at Oakdale by inviting them to an activity, like our Wednesday night activities or to worship on Sunday mornings. Also, we offer different classes that teach a basic knowledge of Christ.

  • Become a part of the community of Hope in Jesus Christ at Oakdale Park Church...
When seeking friends make a commitment to Christ as their Lord and Savior, we encourage them to enter into the full life of the Oakdale Park Church family, which includes membership through Profession of Faith, involvement in a small group, and discovering one's spiritual gifts.

  • Grow in Christ Jesus through relationships at Oakdale Park Church...
When a person becomes a Christian, we encourage them to seek to grow in their faith and life in Christ as well as begin to encourage other Christians to grow. Some of the means we use for growth are Bible studies, retreats, outings, and prayer meetings.

  • Become a Servant in the body of Christ...
As believers grow and are enriched by the church, it becomes their duty and desire to serve in the church. For us at Oakdale, this includes the giving of out time and talents in service and the giving of our tithes as an expression of thankfulness and joy for all that the Lord has done.
